Avril Lavigne and her ex-husband Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley have decided to part ways with their old marital home. The former couple have reportedly put the sprawling Los Angeles abode on the market for $9.5 million. The 12,184 square-foot Bel Air mansion has eight bedroom and ten bathrooms.
The mansion which has 'gorgeous canyon views' was said to be constructed in 2003, and has features such as a two-storey foyer, dual offices, a ten car garage and a wine cellar. The house may be familiar to some as it was featured on former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his wife's reality show, Meet The Barkers. Avril and Deryck purchased the property off the couple in 2006.
Situated on the prestigious gated enclave of Bel Air Crest, the spectacular Mediterranean Estate is listed as offering 'complete privacy, luxury, and comfort.' The home features hardwood floors, Venetian plaster, wood-framed doors and windows that open to lush canyon views. Living areas are all adorned with rich furnishings and touches such as red velvet curtains and black chandeliers. Avril and Deryck were married for just over three years after announcing their split in September 2009.
The next month Avril filed for divorce, releasing the statement:'I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.'The couple divorce was finalized on 16 November 2010, officially ending the marriage.
Since the split, Avril has been dating Brody Jenner, the former The Hills star, who is stepbrother of the Kardashian sisters. The couple have been together last February and she even has his name etched under her breast.
