Canadian artist Avril Lavigne has announced that she will play two dates in the UK this year, backing up the release of her fourth album. She will play in front of those booking London hotels on Wednesday September 21st when she appears at the HMW Hammersmith Apollo, before moving on to Manchester for a gig at the O2 Apollo two days later. The performances come on the back of Goodbye Lullaby, which was released in March. Lavigne first broke on to the music scene with 2002 album Let Go, which featured hits such as Losing Grip, Complicated, Sk8er Boi and I'm With You.

She then followed this up with Under My Skin and The Best Damn Thing which ensured that her skate-punk style received airtime up and down the country. In recent years, Lavigne has branched out into other areas of entertainment, with a particular focus on acting and design.
