Our second week of the Popdust Pop-Off saw even more dedication, extreme examples of fan devotion and over 600,000 votes. The mass participation helped name Avril Lavigne’s “Wish You Were Here” the winner in Week Two, handily defeating reigning champ Cody Simpson and his lovelorn ballad “Not Just You.” Even though she was up against a fervent fan base, Avril’s Little Black Stars successfully managed to get the word out, helping “Wish You Were Here” take home nearly 60% of the vote. While certain fan believe her experience and diverse resume were factors (“Avril Lavigne can ALSO dance, sing, surf, design clothes, do one hand cartwheel, and most especially to INSPIRE MANY PEOPLE THROUGH HER MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!”) Cody’s quest for eternal Popdust glory, will not be forgotten, particularly if his Simpsonizers have anything to say about it:
