Lavigne and reality TV star Jenner, 26, enjoyed a romantic lunch yesterday at Greek restaurant Taverna Tony in Malibu. Jenner is the son of Olympian Bruce Jenner and stepbrother to the Kardashian sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe.
His relationships with Kristin Cavallari, Lauren Conrad and Playboy Playmate Jayde Nicole have featured on reality TV show The Hills.
Hiding under a hoodie, publicity-shy Lavigne kept a safe distance from Jenner as they arrived for a late lunch.The couple have been quietly dating since February, but hadn't been photographed together until Sunday.
Lavigne's behaviour could be down to respect for her husband, Sum 41 singer Whibley, with whom she maintains a close friendship with following their split last September after three years of marriage.After attending the Alice In Wonderland London premiere together in London in February, the ex-couple were also spotted at the Crow Bar in Hollywood in March.
The pair have already tweeted their love for each other on Twitter and got matching lightning tattoos during a trip to Las Vegas last month.
The Complicated singer is the latest famous female to be romantically linked to Jenner in recent years.
In 2006, he briefly dated fellow socialite Nicole Richie.
Jenner split from his latest girlfriend Nicole in December after 15 months together.
Jenner's lunchdate came days after his former best friend Spencer Pratt mocked the reality star's new girlfriend.
The Hills co-star Pratt lashed out at Jenner after he said his former friend had 'lost it' following months of erratic behaviour.
Pratt said: 'You've only dated famous girls for the past six years and I'm the attention whore?
